Ballet

Pink ballet shoes (our ballet shoes come in two width fittings with elastic attached - the pale pink colour blends in perfectly with ballet socks and tights creating a 'clean' leg line. Please ensure you obtain shoes from us so that we can ensure a correct fitting). Ballet shoes should be snug fitting (but not pinching toes).

Sapphire leotard (under 11's) or black leotard (11+); sapphire skirt (under 11's) or black skirt (11+) - skirts optional from Grade 2 ;   pink tights or pink ankle socks ; NO TROUSERS IN BALLET PLEASE, but older pupils may wear black ballet skirts or hotpants.  

Primettes/Prep. Ballet may wear sapphire blue leotard with attached skirt.

FITTING BALLET SHOES

Make sure your are wearing the tights you use for dance while trying the shoes on.

TAP

Black Tap shoes with heel taps ; leotard - (as above); Sapphire Skirt up to Grade 1. Pupils 11+ may wear black bootleg trousers.

MODERN JAZZ

Leotard (as above). Bootleg trousers may be worn in class. Primary and Grade 1 – bare leg for exams.

GYMNASTIC DANCE

As per Modern Jazz.

GENERAL DANCE

Black ‘Skinni’ top or any other plain black top or Prima T Shirt; black bootleg trousers; black jazz shoes.

DRAMA, SINGING and MUSICAL THEATRE

Black jazz shoes; black trousers ie. bootleg trousers or jogging/tracksuit bottoms; black Prima T Shirt or Sweatshirt.

FREESTYLE

For class : Black trousers; Prima T Shirt; black jazz shoes.
For medal tests, black bootleg (as per class); plus bright coloured top and black jazz shoes. Pupils in Intermediate and Advance Freestyle classes may wear own suitable dance wear – BUT NO JEANS and preferably black trousers.

CHEERLEADING

For class - same as Freestyle and pom-poms.
For displays, shows, medal tests – red and white long sleeved leotard, skirt and hot pants; pom-poms, white ankle socks; white plimsolls.

ALL CLASSES

White or black cross-over cardigan (depending on age) or for 11+ close fitting black top may be worn over leotards.

HAIR

Long hair should ALWAYS be tied back NEATLY off faces, preferably in bun for Ballet. We supply scruncies and Alice bands - £1.75 each, available from Joan Baker.

BOYS
Black cycle shorts, (older boys may wear close fitting black trousers); boy’s white leotard or close fitting white T Shirt or vest is required for exams (and preferably also to be worn in class). Black ‘Prima’ T Shirt may be worn in Tap/Moden class; black ballet shoes or tap shoes.
